On average, you should receive bitcoin in your wallet from your instant buy within 10 minutes from completing your etransfer request, though this won't always be the case.
The time it takes to receive your bitcoin from an instant buy depends on a few things:
- How fast (or slow) your bank transfers your funds to us
- Possible slow downs with Interac etransfer
- Bitcoin network congestion
- Bitcoin block time
When you make an instant buy with Beaver we exchange your CAD into bitcoin as soon as we receive it from your bank. After that, we deliver it to your bitcoin wallet address immediately, as a high-priority transaction on the Bitcoin network.
You should receive your bitcoin quickly, though it's possible it might take longer, even up to a few hours, based on any of the factors above.
To ensure there are no delays on our end when processing your transfer:
- Be sure to include your unique code in the memo or description field of your etransfer. To avoid any errors it is best to copy and paste. We occasionally see people manually typing their memo codes and mistaking 0s for Os or vice versa. Copy and paste to avoid any mistakes.
- Ensure the name on your bank account is the same as the name on your Beaver account. If there is a discrepancy your first transfer will be held for manual review.
If it's been more than a few hours and you still have not received your bitcoin, but money has left your bank account, the transfer is likely blocked by your bank. At this point please send us a message so we can look into any potential issues on our end, and check if we have received the transfer or not. If not, we will advise you to call your bank and request that your transfer be allowed through. These calls are usually quick and painless. The bank just wants to make sure you know where you're sending your money.
